Excellent Game
The game as a whole is really good, the campaign was very short compared to MW1, however special opp's makes up for that whether your on your own or online with friends this is why I give it five stars.
Now the server has been patched and you can actually get online it's really good whatever your skill level, I've played most game types and found them to be really enjoy full, if your in to the cod series then this edition is a must have.
No zombies on this edition but I don't feel the need as it may lose its possible realistic side, just my opinion though, I think the age rating is very harsh I'm thinking at most it should be a 15 so don't let that stop you from buying it for others, again my opinion you may want to make your own judgment.
Pure outstanding escapism
Having only previously owned a PS1 which has been sitting in the attic for some years now, when I got the PS3 and MW2 recently I can't tell you just how much my life's been totally consumed by this game!
I've got a 9 to 5 job and a pretty decent social life, and I hope to maintain both as time goes on. But nowadays, in any given minute of the day I find myself thinking about strategy, how to increase kill streaks, the best spots on each map, how to avoid or find the campers and boosters, and generally all things MW2.
For a guy brought up on the ZX Spectrum 48k, I suspect that a great deal of those reviewing here are just a little bit too complacent about how outstanding this game is, how lucky we are to have genius geeks gathering together and creating games like this, and why comparisons with other PS3 FPS games are simply irrelevant.
Once I trained on the campaign and started levelling up on multiplayer I've never looked back. I don't cheat, and don't really care if anyone else does. I just enjoy it for myself - the graphics, the energy, the way you have to adapt to every map and circumstance - and get a kick whenever I increase my rank, get a seemingly impossible longshot and gradually notice how much better I've been getting as time goes on.
But don't listen to me. Don't listen to the critics who, for the most part, don't appreciate the work that's gone into this game and simply project their opinions about other games on the understanding that if you don't agree with them, you're wrong!
If you're into first person shooters, given the more recent lower price I think this title deserves a try, and if you don't end up agreeing with me that it'll change your entire way of thinking for a while, you can always trade it in.
Frackin' awesome
I've only recently got involved with this series of games, starting with World at War about six months ago. Although I thought it was pretty good, I was concerned that Modern Warfare 2 was overhyped. I was wrong, this is a brilliant game. Very addictive.
I've already completed it, (it took four days) which is a first for me. The game time is on par with many other games. So, the graphics are amazing in 720p, surround sound is good, although I though the voices could be a bit louder and clearer. There were a few times where I was wondering what was I being told.
Other than that I thought the game was extremely varied in terms of locations, objectives and weapons. It didn't take too long, as a newbie, to work out the controls or what to do.
STUNNING
I never liked any of the earlier Call of Duty games as they seemed very glitchy. So if I was going to purchase a WW2 Shooter, it would have likely been one of the Medal of Honor's or Brothers in Arms games. They were allot smoother and engrosing storyline wise.
However several days ago, my brother talked me into getting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. I took his word for it and purchased them both!
I hesitantly put Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on after watching a movie earlier today and figured I would turn it off after 10 minutes and whack it on Ebay or something. Well what can I say, 4 hours later I was still playing it, all thoughts of getting rid of them have become a distant memory, and I have had to physically stop myself from playing them so I don't complete the games too quickly!
The visuals are mental! The character AI is crazy good! The sound quality from gunfire and explosions is tip top! Storyline engrossing! In fact for the first time getting a shooter, I can't think of any complaints.
If like me, you have got a WW2 Call of Duty in the past, and not liked, and based the decision to not buy them on that, then for goodness sakes reconsider! Give these a try! You will not be disappointed!
A easy 5 out of 5!
